Consultation
We will meet with the potential client to discuss expectations, priorities and walk your property taking notes and listen to your ideas. We will engage in conversation to help create an overall picture of the design. An anticipated budget for work is very important for our designer to know. A budget is vital to the project's product selection, size, elements and scope of work.

From this meeting the designer will be able to decide if a design is necessary or a cost analysis can be prepared. If it is determined that no design is required: We will provide you with a written proposal based on the previously determined budget and design elements for your review and approval. The proposal will specify all material selections and list all included work. If design work is required: A Design Agreement and Fee will be presented based on the landscape and hardscape elements to be included in your project. This will also take into consideration the estimated budget range established for each element or phase. To initiate the design process, a deposit and signed design agreement will be required. The balance of the design fee will be due before the presentation of final drawings.

Note: If installation is contracted through Custom Patios the total design fee will be applied toward the installation contract price.

Site Survey
We will prepare a site inventory, measure and photograph the area where the landscape plan will be developed.

Conceptual Plan and Estimate
We will prepare a concept plan using base map information gathered in the site analysis, and an "estimated" project cost based on the requirements and ideas discussed at the initial consultation. This will be presented to the client. Once you approve the concept plan and agree to the "estimated" project cost, the remaining balance of the design contract is submitted.

Master Plan
A detailed master plan or final drawings and construction contract is completed and presented to the client. Once a contract is submitted with the first construction deposit your project begins scheduling.

Typical construction details and non-scale elevation drawings shall be prepared on an as-needed basis as part of the design process.

Installation
Scheduling is complete, obtain any necessary permits, and order materials. Work typically begins within one to five weeks.

Before any work begins, Custom Patios will hold a preconstruction meeting onsite with any production managers to be involved in your project in order to assure a smooth order of events during the construction phases.

Site work such as demolition and excavation take place first. Masonry and hardscaping are typically the second step. Bed preparation and soil conditioning are next.
Following proper horticultural standards, our technicians install the plants.

The finishing touches are put on when we install the landscape lighting, mulch the beds and sod or seed lawn areas.

All plants are thoroughly watered, stake trees if necessary, tags are removed from plants and work area is cleaned.
